A few words on Sonic Mania

I’ve been a Sonic fan since I picked up a controller. From the chimes of SEGA to the opening drum beats of the first game, I was hooked. Going fast was all I wanted to do. Each Mega Drive instalment was devoured after school or on weekends. Always after homework… I thought this could last forever. However, that wasn’t to be. The last 20 years (it’s really been that long), has been a frustrating time for fans of the Blue Blur. The 3D era hasn’t been kind. Ready Player One

I’ve only got back into reading recently. I don’t want to bore you with the details, so I’ll give you the short version. After not having a “Beach holiday” (sitting by a pool until your skin looks like Mr Krabs) for about 5 years, I’d forgotten how good reading was. Instead, I’d immerse myself in either virtual worlds. It was a stress relief, after a long day of work there’s nothing better than incinerating fools.

Watching Pokémon is more traumatic as an adult

Last weekend, a few friends decided to have a little get together. We’ve had nights like this before where the alcohol has flown and we settle in for a movie binge or a friendly game of Cards Against Humanity.
